Anyone Using ICD-U40 and MPLAB 6+?
PostPosted: Wed Mar 10, 2004 12:48 am     Reply with quote

I am difficulties getting this configuration to work.

I have installed the USB drivers under WinXP and it is detected.

I configure the device as an MPLAB ICD 2 debugger. However I get the following messages afterward

..........

Connecting to MPLAB ICD 2
ICD0019: Failed to open communications: (Failcode = 0x2)
ICD0021: Unable to connect with MPLAB ICD 2
ICD0021: Unable to connect with MPLAB ICD 2
MPLAB ICD 2 Ready

............

I am wondering...I am trying to connect to a PIC16f874. Would I be getting these errors if my circuit was set up incorrectly. Or are these errors independant of the setup? If my crstal oscillator was busted, would I get these errors?

I am also wondering...is it even possible to use the ICD-U40 with any version of MPLAB? Thanks!!!

Hello random_person,
I tried it some month ago and it doesn't work.
Since that I'm using the CCS IDE and I'm pleased. It's a fine IDE.

Sorry, but I think that is not what you want to read here. ;-)
